maskirovka
маскировка (Maskirovka) is an upcoming horror animated short! It involves a girl who must save her Russian village from monstrous masked performers before the winter solstice ends. I feel grateful to be a part of a collaborative project that is incredibly up my alley and am responsible for many different aspects.

As this was a collaborative project, I ended up seeing underappreciated sections of the visual language and made it my goal to see how I could fill it. I loved the idea of the town and its structures being characters onto themselves, and played around with the idea of face pareidolia while also showing sparse resources and instability.
I also took my stab at the short's very particular style for characters and designed many of the background characters for the short. It's also so much fun for me to be able to include our crew!

I ended up doing some animation exercises (a walk cycle, pendulum swing, and lip-sync test) before completing three rough shots.

cleanup + crowd animation
Our team ended up having a bit of a time crunch with our cleanup animation, and it was a great excuse to learn Toonboom better. If there were any opportunity to do crowds, our director knew I was super enthusiastic to do them. I hope to do lots more cleanup in the future.

I have been acting as Social Media Manager and primary content creator for Maskirovka since February 2026. My primary goals involve consistency, humor, and bringing attention to the passionate indie nature of our film.
